Jesus Unleashed: The Gospel of Luke for Today

The Gospel of Luke shows a side of Jesus that the early church must have missed. Luke’s attempt was to give the early Christian community the story so that they might know accurately that the things they were taught were helpful.

Today Christianity has told the story of Jesus to a culture rejecting the call to discipleship. However, people love Jesus, but not the church (as was so accurately expressed in Kimball’s book by the same title and Kinneman’s classic Unchristian) due to the fact that we have fallen short in manifesting the true Jesus to our communities.

Jesus Unleashed is a sermon series that will call us to rekindle our faith and search again for the Jesus who is truly the Friend of Sinners and Tax Collectors. In finding this Jesus we too can follow and walk like he did in a world seeking safety in God.
